My Top 50 Games Ever
I’m going to throw down the gauntlet (no pun intended) to my blogging friends and list my favourite, most fondly remembered games of all time. Things like this are subject to constant revision, so I’m not going to be too fussy about it. I’ve listed them in alphabetical order (because some things are too hard to compare). I list the platform that I played each game on.
- Beach Head (C64)
- Boulderdash (C64)
- Burning Rangers (Saturn)
- Bust A Move (Playstation)
- Command & Conquer (Mac)
- Dungeon Master (Amiga)
- Exile (Amiga)
- Flashback (Amiga)
- Gargoyle’s Quest (Gameboy)
- Gauntlet (C64)
- God of War (PS2)
- Halo (Mac)
- Homeworld (Windows PC)
- Jumping Flash (Playstation)
- Lemmings (Amiga)
- Myth (C64)
- NiGHTS Into Dreams / Christmas NiGHTS (Saturn)
- Outrun (C64)

- Rez (Dreamcast)
- Rick Dangerous (Amiga)
- R-Type (Amiga)
- Sega Rally (Saturn)
- Sensible Soccer (Amiga)
- Shadow of the Colossus (PS2)
- Shining Force 3 (Saturn)
- Sonic the Hedgehog (Megadrive)
- Soul Calibur (Dreamcast)
- Starwing (SNES)
- Streetfighter 2 (various versions) (SNES)
- Super Mario 64 (N64)

- X-Men Vs Streetfighter (Saturn)
- Yoshi’s Island (SNES)
- Zelda: A Link to the Past (SNES)
- Zelda: Link’s Awakening (Gameboy)
- Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64)
You could infer that I don’t care much for computer gaming (consoles all the way for me…), that I think the SNES was the best console ever, and that the Zelda series are my favourite games. Yep, sounds about right.
Now if I could just get a damn Wii I could play Twilight Princess…

My list will certainly be less PC based gaming with a couple of exceptions (day of the tentacle, sam and max hit the road, Monkey Island etc.) Beach Head man I’d forgotten that one and I played it lots on my Amstrad CPC 464.
I always wanted a commodor 64 and an Amiga but never did get either of them
I also missed out on all the nintendo stuff until I went to uni, one of my friends had an N64 I think we played Goldeneye all the time (how did I get that degree again?).

I reckon I’ve got a story for every one of these games… When we used to go round to Ken and Maureen’s house (friends of our mum and dad), Ken and me used to spend ages playing on his computer.
I used to like the little obstacle course with the tanks
The Commodore 64 was the first computer I ever had. We didn’t get to play it all the time though because it meant taking over the living room telly. Back when the little guy tapping his foot in Boulderdash if you left him was hilarious… Aaaaah memories…
